Estimate the dancers at once
Most weddings and social events see about 40–60% of guests on the dance floor during peak songs. We split the difference and use 50% as a planning baseline. For example, at a 200-guest wedding, we expect around 100 people dancing at the same time. -
Allocate square footage per dancer
Industry standards suggest between 3–5 ft² per person. We set our calculator at 4.0 ft² per dancer, which provides a comfortable balance—enough room to move without overspending on unnecessary flooring. -
Match to standard rental sizes
Dance floors are built from modular 4’×4’ panels, so the actual size must fit those increments. That’s why we don’t just give you an abstract number—we show you real-world size options (e.g., 16’×20’, 20’×20’, 24’×24’). -
