Event Production at The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa

The Kierland is built for corporate-group programs — multiple ballrooms, a full breakout floor, outdoor event space, and Kierland Commons shopping and dining across the street. The property's Scotch Library and outdoor water features add signature moments that planners use for receptions and off-session activities.

Most events we work at Kierland events are corporate retreats or association programs with 200 to 800 attendees. A general session runs in the ballroom; breakouts run concurrently on the meeting floor; evening receptions move outdoors or to Kierland Commons restaurants. The production scope is typical resort multi-space with evening entertainment layering on top.

Kierland's layout — ballrooms on one end, breakouts central, outdoor venues across the grounds, dining across the street — makes coordination the defining production challenge. We plan the event-day schedule as a single run-of-show with clear transitions and attendee-flow timing rather than treating each space as independent.

Gear positioning is planned to minimize cross-venue movement. Main ballroom gear stays in ballroom; breakout kits are pre-positioned room-by-room; outdoor reception gear loads separately and stages in advance. The crew is sized for concurrent coverage rather than serialized moves between positions.
